Shooting stars scored twice in the first half to defeat El Kanemi Warriors 3-0 in their Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan, on Sunday.
Goals from Samuel Ayanrinde and Aliyu Abubakar in the first half put Coach Gbenga Ogunbote’s side in command before Adams Mustapha, a substitute, sealed all three points in the second period for Shooting Stars.
Ayanrinde opened the floodgate of goals with a well-placed header from Monday Gideon’s cross in the 27th minute before Abubakar’s mishit cross sailed beyond the goalkeeper, allowing the Oluyole Warriors head into the break in comfortable 2-0 win.
The home side continued to push for more goals and eventually made it three-nil on 61 minutes when Mustapha’s routine shot was palmed into the net by the goalkeeper.
