The Kano command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says 108 suspected vandals were arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protest in Kano.

Mohammed Lawal-Falal, the NSCDC commandant in Kano, who paraded the suspects on Saturday said they were arrested at different locations during the protest.

Lawal-Falala said the arrests followed credible intelligence the command received from its investigation department.

He said some of the suspects are from neighbouring states, while the rest are Nigeriens.

He said the protesters allegedly vandalised and looted the soon-to-be-inaugurated Digital Industrial Park owned by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

“We have been working assiduously to arrest the suspects and recover the stolen properties,” NAN quoted Lawal-Falala as saying.

The commandant said the command recovered LCD TVs, executive chairs, door, window frames, drawers, state road dual carriageway iron demarcating shields and a 50 KVA Mikano generator for streetlight at Dorayi Quarters in Gwale LGA.

“I want to restate my stance that the NSCDC Kano command under my watch is committed to protecting lives and property in the state,” he added.
