NSE: Market cap adds N43 billion

Figures from the trading floor at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday show that the market continued the positive trend it began on Monday, with indices and capitalization further appreciating.

The market capitalisation added N43 billion to stabilize on the N14 trillion mark it hit on Monday, closing at N14.070 trillion, compared with the opening capitalisation of N14.027 trillion.

The All-Share Index also added 128.83 points, which is 0.30 per cent, to close at 42,611.30 points, as against the 42,482.48 points recorded on Monday.

7UP led the gainers’ table, adding N9.53, to close at N102.53 per share.

Uacn followed with a gain of N3.10 to close at N65.10, while International Breweries grew by N1.30 to close at N28.00 per share.

Presco also improved by N1.09 to close at N36.10, while Wapco appreciated by N1.01 to close at N112.01 per share.

On the other hand, MRS Oil recorded the highest price loss, shedding N6.82 to close at N63.18 per share.

Forte Oil trailed with a loss of N6.30 to close at N200.00, while Guinness dipped by N2.00 to close at N198.00 per share.

Oando also lost N0.75 to close at N28.51, while Caverton depreciated by N0.60 to close at N5.64 per share.

In all, investors staked N4.978 billion on 620.8 million shares in 5,455 deals, against Monday’s trading where investors bought 408.5 million shares worth N7.570 billion traded in 5,882 deals.

Continsure was the most active stock, accounting for 280 million shares worth N305.2 million.

Access Bank came second with 88.7 million shares valued at N847.3 million, while Wapic sold 34.7 million shares worth N27.5 million.

Transcorp accounted for 29.7 million shares valued at N152.7 million, while Zenith Bank traded 28.8 million shares worth at N72.9 million.
