NSE market indicators appreciate by 0.29 per cent

Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended on a positive note on Tuesday, with the market capitalisation appreciating by N37 billion or 0.29 per cent.

The market capitalisation closed higher at N12.803 trillion from the N12.766 trillion recorded on Monday.

Also, the All-Share Index, which opened at 38,662.65, rose by 114.02 points to close at 38,776.67.

Nestle led the gainers’ chart with a gain of N5.05 to close at N980.05 per share. Forte Oil followed, appreciating by N2.5 to close at N214, while Nigerian Breweries rose by N1.63 to close at N168 per share. Lafarge Wapco rose by N1.22 to close at N118.22, while Oando Oil was up by 6k to close at N23.7 per share.

On the slip side, Unilever led the losers’ chart with a loss of N2.22 to close at N42.28 per share. PZ Cussons lost N1.08 to close at N27.74, while Guinness dipped 65k to close at N178 per share. CCNN depreciated by 39k to close at N14.06, while FCMB dropped by 12k to closed at N4.07 per share.

Mansard Insurance emerged the most traded stock, accounting for 100.08 million shares worth N300.156 million. Transcorp exchanged 47.020 million shares valued at N224.16 million, while FBN Holdings sold 19.31 million shares worth N244.80 million. UBA traded 17.58 million shares valued at N103.42 million, while Access Bank exchanged 15.56 million shares worth N134.92 million.

In all, investors exchanged 352.909 million shares worth N3.28 billion in 6,171 deals. This was against the 353.801 million shares valued at N4.15 billion traded in 5,221 deals on Monday.
