Abejoye Oyeniyi of Lagos state has claimed the gold medal in men’s 110 meters hurdles at the ongoing National Sports Festival (NSF).
Oyeniyi finished first to claim the top prize in 13:79 seconds. Wisdom Musa of Anambra won the silver medal while Martins Ogieriakhi of Delta clinched the bronze.
Grace Ayemoba of Rivers state also came first in 13.65 seconds to win gold in women’s 100m hurdles. Miracle Thompson of Lagos won the silver medal in 13.75 secs Oluwakemi Francis settled for the bronze in 14.01 secs.
The day 8 events saw Timipamere Akiayefa claimed gold and bronze in the women’s 50m backstroke and 100m freestyle swimming respectively for Delta state.

Rose Akusho won the women’s 5000m race for Plateau while Blessing Solomon of Delta clinched the silver medal.
Ifiezegbe Gagbe won her sixth gold medal of the festival in the 800m freestyle swimming.
Dino Ebarakumo of Bayelsa won men’s 50m backstrokes in swimming ahead of Kano’s Sadiq Yahaya and Duke Enikiyemi of Delta.

Edo’s swimming quartet of Victoria Ajakaiye, Rachel Tonjor, Sandra Tonjor, and Uwiye Yinlayefa won gold in 4x200m freestyle.
In the men’s 20km race walk, Dele Elegbeleye of Edo claimed gold in 1:42.16. Alade Adeyemi of River won silver while Lawal Oluwaseyi Isma’il from Oyo went with the bronze.
It was gold for Esther Lawrence of Delta in the women’s discus F42-44 event. She threw 26.29 cm.
Glory John and Chidinma Davies of Rivers and Lagos claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.

Joshua Julius made Akwa Ibom proud by claiming gold in the 63kg in kickboxing.
Nsikak Etim Solomon won the second gold for Team Rivers in Scrabble’s Masters Doubles with one game to spare.
Jighere Wellington picked the second silver medal while Lagos won gold in Intermediate Doubles.
