The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has partnered HotSports, a sports marketing firm in the country, for the live broadcast of the 2020 FIFA World Cup qualifiers draw.
The government-owned broadcaster disclosed this in a press statement obtained by TheCable on Monday, ahead of the exclusive telecast scheduled to commence before 6 pm on Tuesday.
The sporting event, which is to hold at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Egyptian capital, would be broadcast exclusively by the NTA.
According to the broadcaster, the move is indicative of its resolve to bring all matches of the qualifiers and the finals of Qatar 2022 to its teeming viewers and their associated brands.

Nigeria’s senior football team will be seeded in the draw, which will set 40 qualifying countries apart in 10 second-round groups.
Winners would then be reduced to five FIFA World Cup finalists from the continent.
NTA’s partnership with HotSports had delivered all the matches of last year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt to millions in Nigeria.

The matches had been produced at the Lagos facility of HS Media Group, the holding company of HotSports.
In October 2019, the duo had been joined by African Independent Television (AIT) to produce the live broadcast of the friendly between Nigeria and Brazil.
