Darwin Nunez scored two late goals to give 10-man Liverpool a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Newcastle in their English Premier League (EPL) match at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
Anthony Gordon’s first-half strike had put Newcastle ahead against the Reds who had Virgil van Dijk sent off for denying Alexander Isak a goal-scoring opportunity.
Jurgen Klopp, however, went on the attack in the second half and his substitutions paid off, with Nunez firing low into the bottom corner on 80 minutes to restore parity before lashing another shot beyond Nick Pope for the winner three minutes into added time.
Liverpool are on seven points from three matches, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season while Newcastle lost consecutive league matches.
