Five people, including a nurse and another administrative staff of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ogun.
This comes days after the Accident and Emergency Complex of the facility was shut down, following the death of a pregnant woman who was discovered to be positive after she passed on; another man, who was also treated at the FMC, tested positive for the virus.
Segun Orisajo, the FMC’s head of public relations and information, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.
“Two patients who tested positive for coronavirus early this week at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, were this evening transferred to the Ogun State isolation facility at Ikenne,” it read.
