Former governor of Adamawa state, Murtala Nyako, has described plans by acting governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, to probe his administration as “ridiculous”.
In a statewide broadcast on Tuesday, the acting governor had announced that Nyako’s administration would be probed for leaving behind a liability of N82bn.
However, Malam Ahmad Sajoh, Nyako’s director of press and publicity, referred to the planned probe as an attempt to discredit the former governor and pitch him against the people of Adamawa.
“To say Nyako left a liability of N82 billion is, to say the least, ridiculous,” Sajoh told NAN.

“How much did the state get as income over the period? It is not even half of the amount quoted.”
He described the probe as unfair and revealed that Nyako is presently challenging his impeachment.
He expressed optimism that the judiciary would vindicate the former governor.
