Olusegun Obasanjo, a former Nigerian president, refused to show up at the council of state meeting holding at the presidential villa in Abuja.
The meeting, which has the forthcoming general election as its main focus, is being attended by current and former leaders, even those who have recently boycotted it.
Among those in attendance are: Aminu Tambuwal, speaker of the house of representatives; Rotimi Amaechi, governor of Rivers state and Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obasanjo had earlier said that he would not comment on elections matter until the polls are over.

“I have spoken. I have used body language and whoever still does not understand all I have been saying, it would take such a person a long time to understand,” he told traditional rulers at a seminar organised in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
“God has done his own part and it’s now left for us as human beings to play our own part. That our own part starts from the 14th and it’s now left to you and me. I won’t say more than that.
“I’ve said I won’t say anything anymore until after the elections. You’ll hear from me after the elections.”
