Died a sad man
Although he was used to controversy, one thing the former sultan wouldn’t have loved to go to the grave with was the way the name “Dasuki” became a damaged brand in Nigeria. Every mention of Dasuki these days is always in the negative sense.
Before the allegations of mismanagement of arms funds running into billions of dollars became public, the security agencies had virtually kept the former NSA in custody, searching his property all over the country.
His father’s houses were also sacked at a time the old man was undergoing treatment.
The elder Dasuki was very unhappy.

Speaking to BBC Hausa service, he said the DSS should have sought his permission before entering his house.
“The security forces should not have entered my house without seeking authority, because there is a difference between me and my son,” he said.
The former NSA said his father was receiving medical attention in the UK when the incident happened.

“They went to my father’s house including breaking into the ceiling to look for incriminating documents. They broke a safe in my father’s house. Also, my sister kept a 20-year old box in my father’s house, they also forced it open. What has my father got to do with this? And the old man is in hospital in London. He was shocked to hear that they broke into his house,” he said.
