Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona is confident that the team would secure a place in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) despite their current position on the log.
Nigeria are in third place behind Congo and South Africa – the two countries they must beat in their next games to ensure a mathematical chance of qualification – but the Caykur Rizespor of Turkey defender says qualification is a foregone conclusion.
“I still have confidence we will qualify,” he told sl10.ng.
“I don’t have any doubts whatsoever; I am 100% sure we will qualify because I have confidence in the team and I don’t have any doubt.”

Oboabona, though, reckons the team must fight to the end to bag the ticket to the next AFCON.
“Sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t, but we have to keep fighting and keep winning as many games as possible and ensure that we get the most important ones,” he said.
The Super Eagles will meet 1972 winners, Congo on November 15 in Brazzaville and face 1996 champions, South Africa four days later in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
