Sherriff Oborevwori, Delta state governor, has officially declared open the 18th edition of the Nigerian Red Cross Society’s (NRCS) International Youth Camp.
The camp is holding at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Training School in Agbor, Delta state.
The governor, who was represented at the event by Harry Trakiriowei, commissioner for youth development, said the Delta state government has always supported the youth.
“Here in Delta state, we recognise the important role that education plays in shaping the youth to make enduring impact in the world,” he said.

“This is why as soon as I took office as Governor of Delta State, I ordered state owned universities and other tertiary institutions to lower the fees that they charge students.”
Oborevwori outlined four more initiatives targeted at creating opportunities for young people in the formal and informal sectors.
Oludare Ogunjobi, commandant of the FRSC Training School Agbor, said the Red Cross and the corps have a decent collaborative relationship.
