Obot, Efala, Ndah… TheCable’s NPFL team of the week

Many Nigerian players were in action for their respective clubs over the weekend – some impressed, others flopped, and many were lost in the activities.

TheCable has decided to stick with the usual 4-1-2-3 system, with Akwa United’s Kennedy Boboye at the dugout.

The Promise Keepers picked up a point on the road, thanks to the heroics of their Cameroonian import.

Imo Obot – Dakkada

Imo Obot tormented the Wikki Tourists back line with his dangerous runs. One of his forays resulted in an assist from Femi Ajayi for the leveller.

Daniel Itodo – Plateau United

The Rory Delap of Nigerian football was at it again with his trademark long thrust being converted by Ibrahim Mustapha as Plateau United pipped Rivers United 1-0.

Olisa Ndah – Akwa United

A solid performance from the Nigeria international at the weekend against FC Ifeanyi Ubah.

Dennis Nya – Akwa United

Nya formed an unbreakable partnership with Ndah and the result was positive.

Ewelike Achibi – Kano Pillars

Another disciplined performance from the experienced midfielder who scored for Pillars at the weekend.

Yusuf Anas – Nasarawa United

The skillful player was domineering in the midfield. He was rewarded with a goal in the win over Abia Warriors.

Chidi Solomon – Nasarawa United

He once again left his mark as Kano Pillars’ most outstanding player who seems to be improving all the time. He was again on song at the weekend.

Femi Ajayi – Dakkada

Femi Ajayi is a man for the big occasion and he helped Dakkada get the needed goal at the last minute.

Ibrahim Mustapha – Plateau United

The former Enyimba striker picked his spot to net the only goal following the long thrust from Itodo.
