Stoke City forward, Osaze Odemwingie, has admitted that he is still months away from full fitness.
The 34-year-old Nigeria international suffered a knee ligament injury last season which left him out of action for eight months.
Despite making his comeback in April and featuring in Stoke’s pre-season friendlies against Everton, Singapore and Brentford, the forward says that he still requires time to pick up match fitness.
“I’m still a few months away from being 100%, but I am happy with where I am now,” he told Stoke City Player.

“I do all the necessary work. Fitness now is what I want to achieve – there’s no shortcuts.
“I just have to make those efforts off the ball as well, which I try my best to do, which will bring me back to my best physical condition.”
Odemwingie, who signed for the Potters from Cardiff City in January 2014, was handed a contract extension in July until the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
