Ododo allocates 100 hectares of land to FG for ‘renewed hope’ housing estate

Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, has allocated 100 hectares of land in the state for the construction of a 1000-unit housing estate.

The proposed housing estate is part of the initiative of the renewed hope housing programme of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration.

On Wednesday, the management of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), led by Ayotunde Ojo, its managing director, visited Ododo in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.

Ismaila Isah, special adviser on media to the Kogi governor, said in a statement on Thursday that the essence of the meeting between Ododo and the FHA boss was to finalise talks about the renewed hope housing project.

Isah quoted the governor as saying that his administration is committed to the renewed hope agenda of Tinubu’s administration.

“As a state that borders nine other states and the FCT, our population growth and the effect of urbanization and migration to the state from neighbouring states and the FCT for social and economic reasons has significantly impacted housing needs in Kogi state,” the statement reads.

“It will be the most strategic choice for the FHA through the Renewed Hope Housing Project of Mr President to consider Kogi State as a prime location for the Renewed Hope City.
