Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, has appointed Hauwa Yusuf as the director-general (DG) of the state broadcasting corporation.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kingsley Fanwo, commissioner for information and communication, said Yusuf’s appointment is with immediate effect.
He said Yusuf was appointed after a rigorous selection process, adding that her exceptional qualifications and dedication to public service were considered.
He expressed confidence in her ability to lead the corporation to new heights and contribute to the growth and development of the sector.

“Hajia Yussuf brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having held various positions within the broadcasting industry,” the statement reads.
“Her commitment to promoting quality programming, engaging with the community, and upholding media professionalism perfectly aligns with the corporation’s mission.”
The commissioner congratulated Yusuf, adding that he “eagerly anticipates the positive impact she will undoubtedly make at the corporation”.

He commended Ojo Ozovehe, the outgoing director-general, for his immense contributions to the transformation of the corporation.
