Usman Ododo, the governor of Kogi, has asked residents to continue to uphold peace, unity, and tolerance after Ramadan.
Ododo spoke on Sunday after attending the Eid prayer marking the end of Ramadan at Muhammadu Buhari Civic Center in Lokoja, the state’s capital.
The governor asked residents to put aside differences and work together to build a more prosperous and peaceful Kogi.
“I am deeply grateful to God for the gift of life and the rare privilege given to me and my team to serve the people of the state,” NAN quoted Ododo to have said.

“I thank everyone in the state for their support and cooperation, which have been instrumental in helping us fulfil our campaign promises.
“My message to the people as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr is for them to continue reflecting on the lessons of compassion, peace, and progress.”
Ododo reassured Kogi residents of his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and supporting development initiatives while commending religious leaders, monarchs, and communities for maintaining peace and stability in the state since he assumed office.

He also praised Ibrahim Kabir, the Maigari of Lokoja, and community members during their traditional homage to him at the government house.
The governor appreciated the Maigari’s prayers and support, adding that he would strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions to bring governance closer to the people.
