The incident is the latest in attacks on police stations and security personnel in the south-east region.

Owing to the incessant attacks in the region, the south-east governors had set up a joint security outfit, codenamed ‘Ebube Agu’, to address the security challenges.

But in spite of this effort, the attacks have persisted.
