Ogun APC gov candidate picks UK-trained engineer as running mate

Dapo Abiodun, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun state, has announced Noimot Salako-Oyedele as his running mate in the 2019 polls.

A statement issued by his campaign organisation said Salako-Oyedele emerged after a “detailed screening of various qualified individuals” for the position.

The statement said the 52-year-old is a professional with over 30 years of “proven records of experience” in consulting, contracting and real estate sectors.

She is the managing director/chief executive officer, Glenwood Property Development Company Limited.

“Noimot holds a Masters degree in Public Health Engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology London, UK, a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos,” the statement read.

Speaking after her emergence, Abiodun was quoted as saying: “I am convinced that Mrs. Salako-Oyedele is suitable for this position, given her proven integrity, professional track records, leadership skills and capabilities. And I look forward to working with her to deliver good governance to the good people of our dear state”

Abiodun emerged the party’s governorship candidate against all odds.

His rival, Adekunle Akinlade who was endorsed by Ibikunle Amosun, the state governor, dumped the party on Thursday.
