Kayode Ogungbohun, the Agbaigba of the Ijake-Oke community in Ogun, has called on the state government to expedite work on the electrification project of his domain.
The monarch spoke in a statement issued on Thursday to announce the activities lined up to mark his first coronation anniversary.
As part of the coronation anniversary, the monarch will inaugurate two newly constructed boreholes for the people of the community.
He will also lay the foundation of a hall in Agbaigba Community High School.

He added that there will be a free medical outreach, speech and quiz competitions, as well as traditional poetry reading among schools in the community.
“There will be a conferment of chieftaincy titles on indigenes of Ijaka-Oke and other friends of the Agbaigba kingdom during the anniversary,” the statement reads.
“Upon my ascension to the throne, I envisioned that the people would enjoy potable water away from drinking from the flowing Yewa River and improve on the enrollment of more pupils in formal schools. So far, there has been positive progress on these goals.

“I appeal to the Ogun state government to expedite work on my community’s rural electrification project and harmonise the public schools so that our children can have unrestricted access to formal education, while also helping in improving the roads in the area.”
