Ogun SSG survives but Amosun’s aide dies in election eve accident

Adeniyi Adesanya, an aide of Ibikunle Amosun, governor of Ogun state, died in an accident close to Abeokuta, the state capital on Friday.

Taiwo Adeoluwa (pictured), secretary to the state government, who was also involved in the accident is currently recuperating at the Federal Medical Center, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.

Clement Oladele, sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident to NAN but could not immediately speak on the cause.

While he was silent on Adesanya, he said the SSG was responding to treatment.

“The crash occurred around Day Water Man College, close to Kobape, Abeokuta . The SSG is responding to medical treatment and he is about being discharged from the hospital,” he said.

“I actually spoke with him and he is recuperating well.”

TheCable learnt that the corpse of Adesanya had been deposited at the morgue where Adeoluwa is being treated.

The tragic incident occurred on the eve of an election which Amosun is contesting.

The governor is contesting the Ogun central senatorial district election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
