Jelili Ogunmuyiwa says his utmost ambition is to officiate the final of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
He is one of the African referees that will officiate at the championship which will take place in Bahamas between April 27 and May 7.
“The greatest thing that will happen now is for me to be at the final of the Beach Soccer World Cup,” he told TheCable.
“I want to be the first African referee to do so.”

“That’s what I am working towards and know that Almighty Allah will make it possible with my hard work.
“Being the only in Nigeria always give me more courage, more determination to prove them right for appointing me.

“I have to do things right and well so as not to block the opportunity for other Nigerians to be there too in the future.
“I have to set a standard for such feat,” he said.
Ogunmuyiwa was at the last FIFA Beach soccer world championship in Portugal.
He will be joined by Bousbih Isaam of Tunisia and Madagascar’s Hacham Said in Bahamas.

Ogunmuyiwa, who obtained his grade one certificate in refereeing in 2001, has officiated a number of Nigerian Premier League games.
