Ojukwu now Kogi police commissioner

‎The Police Service Commission (PSC) on Wednesday announced the redeployment of Emmanuel Ojukwu, police spokesman, and 36 commissioners of police (CPs) to various state commands and the FCT.

The commission in a statement said that the redeployment was in line with “section 215 of the 1999 constitution, which empowers the commission to appoint officers to states as commissioners of police.”‎

Ojukwu, a commissioner of police, was deployed to Kogi state, but a new police spokesman is yet to be announced.

Other redeployed CPs are: Ikechukwu Nwodibo (Taraba) J. Habila (Abia), Adejo Gabriel Adaji (Adamawa), Muritala U. Mani, Akwa Ibom, Karma Hosea (Anambra), Mohammed K. Mohammed, (Bauchi) and P. Okafor (Bayelsa), Dibai P. Yakadi, (Benue), J. Opadokun (Borno), Henry Fadairo (Cross River), Usman Bala Alkali (Delta), P Abdalla (Ebonyi), Chris Ezike (Edo), Etop J. James (Ekiti), Mohammed Adamu (Enugu), Wilson Inalegwu (FCT), Austin Iwar (Gombe), T. Lakanu (Imo), U. Tilli Abubakar (Jigawa), U.U.Shehu (Kaduna), M. Katsina (Kano), U. Abdullahi (Katsina), Yakubu O. Jubrin (Kebbi), E. Amadasun (Kwara), F. Owoseni (Lagos), Mohammed Sani Usman (Nasarawa), Abubakar Marafa (Niger), Abdulmajid Ali (Ogun).

Also redeployed are: M. Ogbodu (Ondo), K. Shodipo (Osun), Leye Oyebade (Oyo), Nasiru Oki (Plateau), Hyelasinda Kimo Musa (Rivers), Salisu F. Abdullahi (Sokoto), Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim (Yobe), and Femi Ogunbayode (Zamfara).‎

The PSC while urging the CPs to take their jobs seriously and ensure they are committed to the enforcement of law and order and protection of lives and property within the ambits of the rule of law, said the shake up in the force was to reinvigorate the state commands for more effective policing.‎
