Blessing Okagbare, Nigeria’s sprint queen, ran a personal best of 7.10 seconds in the women’s 60 meters race at the American Track League on Sunday.
Okagbare finished ahead of Jamaica’s Christian Williams and Teahna Daniels who finished in 7.14 and 7.17 seconds respectively.
With her performance at the American Track League in Fayetteville, she also became the seventh-fastest Nigerian woman after Gloria Asunmu’s 7.07 seconds ran in 2012.
After the 60m event, the 2014 Commonwealth Games double sprint queen also took to the 200m track to earn another lifetime best, a 23.01 seconds finish to win her heat.
She finished ahead of Shawnti Jackson and Ashley Henderson who ran 23.23 and 23.33 seconds respectively.
At the men’s 60m event, Divine Oduduru and Charles Okeze finished fifth and seventh respectively in 6.70 and 6.83 seconds.
