Gabriel Okechukwu’s goal helped Nigeria pip Sudan 1-0 to qualify for the final of the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Eight minutes into the game, Nigeria suffered a huge blow when Ikechukwu Ezenwa got injured in the process of blocking out Mohamed Idris’s effort on goal. The Eagles’ skipper couldn’t continue the match and was replaced by Dele Ajiboye.
In the 16th minute, Okechukwu scored from close range with a low shot after beating the defence with his pace.
Anthony Okpotu had the chance to double the advantage for Nigeria but his low drive was kept out by the Falcons goalkeeper.

The final 10 minutes of the first half was busy for Ajiboye as the Sudanese team bombarded Nigeria with full force.
In the second half, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi’s dangerous tackle earned him a red card in the 58th minute.
