Okorocha: APC not jittery over Ondo election — but we are worried

Rochas-Okorocha says APC worried over Ondo elections | TheCable.ng

Rochas Okorocha, Imo state governor, says the All Progressives Congress (APC) is concerned about its fortunes in the upcoming governorship election of Ondo state.

Okorocha, who’s the chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, also said the ruling party is unhappy with the loss of some “illustrious members”.

Speaking with journalists in Akure on Tuesday, he said Rotimi Akeredolu, APC gubernatorial candidate, has the backing of Bola Tinubu, national leader of the APC, and the party’s governors.

He said: “We are not jittery, but we are concerned. We are not happy that we are losing some of our illustrious members of the APC. I will call on them to please make haste and come back.

“Those who are aggrieved by any means should please come back. Sometimes, it is about communication, if the right communication was dispatched, I don’t think this would have happened.

“Everybody is still with him (Akeredolu), Bola Tinubu is still with him, the Ogun, Osun, Lagos, Oyo governors are with him. The problem is that, like in all families, we have a communication gap. We are all together and by the grace of God, Ondo State will be APC-compliant.

“The Igbo people will support him not because he is our in-law, but because he is a good man. The PDP and the AD candidates are strong but I know we will win.”
