Two days after Olisa Metuh, spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appeared in court in handcuffs, he has been arraigned at an Abuja court in a similar manner, for a fresh charge filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Criticisms had trailed the decision of the officials of Nigeria Prison Service to restrain Metuh handcuffs, with the PDP describing it as a deliberate attempt of the federal government to intimidate him.
After pleading not guilty to the seven-count charge of money laundering and abuse of public trust, the court granted him a bail in the sum of N400 million.

But in a manner similar to all other cases in the ongoing investigation into abuse of security funds under the last administration, the EFCC filed fresh charges against the accused and he had another day on court on Thursday.
