Crystal Palace scored twice in each half to consign Manchester United to a debilitating 4-0 loss at Selhurst Park in their English Premier League (EPL) encounter on Monday night.

Michael Olise was the star on the night with a brace of goals laced with individual brilliance, with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also on the scoresheet.

Olise sauntered past Eriksen in midfield and was allowed to waltz through the defence before planting a low shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards to put Palace ahead.

Mateta doubled the lead before the interval when he ghosted past Johnny Evans before hammering a shot past Andre Onana at his near post. It was Mateta’s sixth consecutive goal at home since Oliver Glasner took charge of the club.

A relentless Palace were unforgiving in the second period, taking a 3-0 lead through Mitchell who swept home from six yards when the ball fell to him in the box fortuitously.

Oliseh completed the rout with another brilliant goal, finding the back of the net with a brilliant 18-yard shot that whistled past Onana.

Crystal Palace made it five wins out of six matches, while Manchester United suffered a first loss in five matches.

The Red Devils have also won only once in six matches. Despite having the same 54 points as seventh-place Chelsea, Erik ten Hag’s Man United dropped to eighth on the EPL log due to an inferior goal difference.
