Former Super Eagles midfielder, Seyi Olofinjana, has signed for Norwegian Tippeligaen campaigners, IK Start for an undisclosed fee after eight months in limbo.
The 34-year-old began his career in Europe with Norwegian club, SK Brann, before moving to England where he played for several clubs, including Wolves, Stoke City, Cardiff City and Hull City. But for eight months now, he has been a free agent following his release by Championship side, Sheffield Wednesday. Now, he’s happy to be back in action.
”I look forward to contributing to Start. The knowledge I have of the club and of course the coach made the choice easy. Mons has an honesty and a commitment that has always impressed me,” Seyi told the club official website.
”It feels like a privilege to be part of the squad. I will contribute from the first minute, but give me a few days of training before I am fit to play.”

Olofinjana and IK Start manager, Mons Ivar Mjelde have worked together in the past. Mjelde was the boss when the central midfielder was on the books of SK Brann during the 2003 season.
”It’s been a while since I played in the Norwegian League and football changes all the time, but I know the course well. I will fight hard to make a contribution for IK Start.”
