Olowu elevated as vice-chairman of Osun council of obas

Adekunle Makama Oyelude, the Olowu of Kuta in Osun, has been elevated as the vice-chairman of the state council of traditional rulers.

In a statement issued by his media office on Friday, Oyelude described the elevation as a welcome development.

The monarch, who celebrated his 10th coronation anniversary recently, said the new role is a motivation for him to do more for the society.

“I received the news of my elevation to the status of vice chairman of Osun state council of Obas,” he said.

“The state government just conveyed the approval to me now. Congratulations to all Owus.”

The Osun monarch has been an advocate for the support of the Nigeria military, especially the army, towards defeating the insurgents in the country.

“He is also among the few Obas in Nigeria who have always lent their voices to national issues which has earned him many recognitions within the media and non governmental organisations,” the statement read.
