Olufemi Awoyemi, the chairman of Proshare Nigeria Limited, will lead discussions as stakeholders gather virtually to discuss the continuous slide of the naira against major global currencies.
The event, themed; ‘Hemorrhaging Naira — what hope’, is organised by The Alvin report, an online platform.
The online engagement is scheduled to hold on October 2, 2021.
It is expected to draw key participants from different stakeholders to discuss extensively the ‘forex crisis’ with a view to better understanding the issue and come up with pragmatic short to long term solutions to stabilise the national currency.

Ebere Agbogun, partner at Reckitt Financial Advisers, will serve as the event’s moderator, according to the organisers.
Speaking on the importance of the event, Joseph Edgar, publisher of The Alvin report, said the need to better dimension the immediate causative factors behind the current situation cannot be over-emphasised.
He said this necessitated bringing together some of the most critical minds within the economic milieu to thoroughly dimension the situation to declutter the narrative and better educate Nigerians.

Other persons expected to speak at the event include Segun Akanji, divisional head, strategy and investment banking, Heritage Bank; Jimi Ogboine of Agusto Consulting; and Tope Fasua, an economist and public affairs consultant.
