Olukayode Thomas, publisher of 234sportsng.com, has accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of threatening him.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, Thomas said he got a call at about 4.49 pm on Friday, September 9, 2022, from a man with telephone number 070-632-492-44.
He said the man who claimed to be a DSS operative ordered him to report to the DSS office in Ilorin, Kwara state, on Monday.
The publisher, who resides in Lagos, said no reason was given for the invitation.

According to him, he informed the caller that a genuine DSS operative would act with better finesse.
He added that he told the purported DSS operative that considering the spate of insecurity, anyone can impersonate and lure unsuspecting Nigerians to be kidnapped or for any other reason.
He said after the conversation, Truecaller revealed the caller’s identity as Janguza Salisu Hamisu.

“Reporters familiar with the operation of DSS revealed that the agency will not summon anybody without a proper letter of invitation,” the statement reads.
“They will inform you through the phone and follow up with a letter to your physical address, and if you are outside their base, in this case, Kwara State, they will contact you through the Director of the state you reside with a letter to your physical address, not just a phone call.”
