Olumide Akpata in early lead as NBA elects president

Olumide Akpata, former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Section on Business Law, is in early lead in the NBA national election which started at 11 pm on Wednesday.

As of 11:45 am on Thursday, the NBA platform which is open for real-time monitoring showed that Akpata has 7212 votes leading the other contenders in the presidential race –  Babatunde Ajibade (with 3259 votes) and Dele Adesina (with 2903 votes).

As of the time of filing this report, only 13644 out of a total of 29,636 eligible voters had cast their ballot.

The election is expected to end at 11:00 pm on Thursday.

Other positions being contested include 1st vice-president, 2nd vice-president, general secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer, welfare secretary, financial secretary, publicity secretary and assistant publicity secretary.
