Mojisola Meranda, speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, says First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has played a significant role in shaping her political journey.
Speaking at the Lagos assembly complex on Friday, Meranda said Oluremi’s mentorship and constant advice had played a significant role in her success in politics.
Meranda praised Oluremi for her commitment to empowering women and her efforts to support the vulnerable.
“She has remained a mentor to me and many other women who are playing positive roles in Lagos and across the country,” NAN quoted Meranda as saying.

“She constantly leads the way for us all and shows how women can become role models in society.
“I am proud that she is our role model and I want to thank her on behalf of Nigerians for all that she does for the people reaching the downtrodden, the challenged and needy.
“I want to thank her for all that she has done for the different states.”

Stella Osafile, a lawmaker representing Amuwo-Odofin 1, also commended Oluremi for her role in encouraging women to participate in the #EveryHomeAGarden competition, an initiative aimed at promoting food sufficiency.
In January, Meranda was elected as the speaker of the Lagos assembly following the removal of Mudashiru Obasa.
