Oluwole Oke, chairman of the house of representatives committee on foreign affairs, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The lawmaker, who represents Obokun/Oriade federal constituency in Osun state, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the PDP chairman in Ward 7, Obokun LGA.

The six-term legislator said that his decision followed consultations with political associates, family, and friends.

“I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect,” the letter reads.

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.

“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.”

Oke also copied the national, state, and chairmen of the PDP in the letter.

The lawmaker, however, did not disclose which political platform he intends to align with.
