Olufemi Oluyede, chief of army staff (COAS), says troops of the 402 special forces brigade should intensify offensives against terrorists, bandits and other criminals in their area of operation.

In a statement, Onyema Nwachukwu, director of army public relations, said Oluyede spoke on Monday during an operational visit to the brigade in Kaduna.

Oluyede acknowledged the challenges facing the troops and promised to address them swiftly, adding that he is committed to ensuring that every soldier is well cared for and properly housed.

He urged officers of the brigade to “lead by example and guide their troops with courage to tackle security challenges in their area”.
