Favour Ofili will begin her 2024 Paris Olympics in the first round of the women’s 200m race.

Ofili has been in the news recently following her omission from Team Nigeria’s women’s 100m list.

The 22-year-old sprinter accused the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) of failing to register her for the event.

She blamed NOC and AFN for “taking this opportunity from me”, adding that “neither organisation can ever be trusted in the future”.

For the women’s 200m, Ofili will compete in the sixth heat of the first round by 9:55 am.

D’Tigress will play their final group game against Canada.

The Rena Wakama-led ladies must avoid an over 20-point defeat against the Canadians to get a chance of progressing out of the group phase.

D’Tigress shocked the world by defeating Australia in their first game in the competition. Nigeria could not maintain the momentum in their second match and lost to France.

The team will take on Canada by 12:30 pm.

In the men’s 100m, Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ashe will resume their quest for glory when they compete in the semi-finals later in the day.
