Team Nigeria will participate in its first final at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday.
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi will carry the nation’s hope for a medal when he files out to compete in the men’s shot put final at Stade de France.
The 31-year-old booked a place in the final after throwing 21.13m in the second qualifying group on Friday.
Although Enekwechi’s mark was below the qualification standard of 21.35m, he progressed with the ninth-best throw in the final qualification list.
