Olympics Day Seven: Enekwechi to compete as athletics begins for Team Nigeria

Chukwuebuka Enekwechi

Team Nigeria will begin its quest for medals in athletics at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Nigeria have managed only a single victory across all the events that the contingents have participated in at the Games.

The results have been uninspiring, with the Super Falcons crashing out of women’s football after losing all their matches, all table tennis representatives losing their first games, and badminton and boxing suffering the same fate.

But the country will be hoping for more impressive performances when its athletes take to the purple track and green field of the Stade de France on Friday.

Then Ashley Anumba takes to the field later for the women’s discus throw Group A qualification by 5:15 pm.

Team Nigeria’s 4×400 mixed relay team compete by 6:10 pm. Nigeria will be participating in heat two alongside Great Britain, Italy and Germany.
