The Super Falcons of Nigeria will take on Spain in their second game of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Randy Waldrum team was dull and disappointing in their first game against Brazil. The ladies showed few standout moments and were completely overwhelmed by the Brazilians in a match that ended 1-0.

A 37-minute audacious strike from Gabi Nunes undid the Falcons, who were playing their first match in 16 years.

The Falcons’ attempt to revitalise their competition will be against the world champions, who defeated Japan 2-1 in their first game.

The match will kick off at 6 pm at La Beaujoire Stadium in Nantes.

In other sports, Edem Offiong has become Nigeria’s foremost medal prospect in table tennis following the day-one ousters of Aruna Quadri and Olajide Omotayo from the competition.

Offiong will take on Brazil’s Bruna Takahashi in the round of 64 of the women’s singles event by 9 pm.
