The D’Tigress of Nigeria were humiliated by the US 100-46 in their second game at the 2024 Olympics qualification tournament in Belgium.
The Rena Wakama-led ladies were out of depth against the Americans who ran them ragged at the Sportpaleis, Antwerp, on Friday.
The team had produced a sensation fourth-quarter comeback to win Senegal 72-65 in their first game of the qualifiers.
But Nigeria lacked such a spark against the Americans. The team started the match with a brilliant three points from Sarah Ogoke and held tightly in the first quarter as the US led by 19-13.

The second quarter was completely different for D’Tigress, who were blown out of the water by the Americans by 51-20.
The US extended the lead further in the third quarter with the scores at 75-35 before the final lap. D’Tigress failed to close down the margin in the fourth quarter as the American ran away with a 54-point victory.
Murjanatu Musa led Nigeria with 13 points and four rebounds, followed by Amy Okonkwo with nine points, two rebounds and two assists.

D’Tigress will face Belgium, the hosts, in their final game on Sunday.
The top three teams from the group will qualify for the women’s basketball event of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
