Former Super Falcons coach Florence Omagbemi has been nominated for The Best FIFA Women’s Coach 2017.
Omagbemi was nominated alongside Danish national team coach Nil Nielsen, Rolf Kellerman of Vfl Wolfsburg, Olivier Echouafni of France.
The winner, and those from other categories, will be chosen by national team coaches, captains, selected media and the fans.
The final list of three nominees will be released mid-September.

Omagbemi played for Nigeria’s women national football team for over a decade, appearing in four FIFA World Cups. She was a member of the team that reached the second round in 1999 before losing to Brazil.
As captain, she won the Africa Women Cup of Nations with the Super Falcons in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2004.
Omagbemi led the Super Falcons to the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations, and on December 3, 2016, she became the first woman to win the tournament as a player and coach.
