Omokri: I’m supporting Trump because of his conservative policies

Reno Omokri, former special assistant on new  to ex-President Goodluck, is a strong supporter of Donald Trump, candidate of the Republican Party in the US presidential election.

In an interview with BBC, Omokri, who runs a Facebook page called ‘Africans for Trump’, explained that he is supporting Trump because of the conservative policies he will bring.

“I support Donald Trump because I think he’s going to have conservative policies,” he said.

“He’s going to nominate conservative Supreme Court justices, he’s also going to overturn Supreme Court judgments like Roe v Wade.”

Roe v Wade was a historical court ruling on the issue of abortion. The Supreme Court deemed abortion a fundamental right.

Omokri continued: “And also in the United States right now there is an ethical issue with the justice department trying to force North Carolina and other states to allow issues like transgender bathrooms.

“It’s those issues, they might seem small to you but those issues are very important to someone like me because I am a conservative and that is why I’m supporting Donald Trump.”

Omokri made it clear that he is not an African-American, but an African. He also spoke on the possible reasons why majority of the African-American populace is supporting Hillary Clinton.

“I’m not African American. I’m African so my background is African. I was in Nigeria for 4 years as a spokesman to the Nigerian President, President Jonathan,” he said.

“So, I only recently went back to my life in California.

“A lot of African-Americans are going to be going for Hillary Clinton because they feel like Donald Trump’s rhetoric and his history is not very much in support of the black populace.”

For Omokri, he believes Trump is going to be right for the job because of the successful business empire he created.

“I believe that Donald Trump has made a success of his business,” he said.

“He borrowed a million dollars from his father in, I think 1981. Right now he’s worth about $3.6 billion.

“He has employees in the tens of thousands.

“What has Hillary Clinton done? Who has she employed? She has just been a government employee all these years.”

When accused of supporting a man who boasts of tax evasion, Omokri quickly responded in defense of the Republican Presidential candidate.

“Yeah, I pay my tax.” said Omokri.

According to Omokri, Trump never boasted of tax evasion.

“He said that he followed the law. There were loopholes in the law and he followed that law.

“Who made that law? People like Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill Clinton.”

  1. Of Course Reno will support Trump! What else do you expect from a man whose previous boss, Jonathan, presided over the plunder of Nigeria for over 6 years.
