Ogenyi Onazi, the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Lazio FC of Italy midfield maestro, tied the nuptial knots with his fiancee Sandra Ogunsuyi at the Rubin Gardens on Lekki Epe Expressway on Saturday.
Ogenyi,who had burst tyre while returning from the traditional wedding in Benin City, Edo state, expressed happiness that he is alive to walk down the aisle with his heartthrob.
“Today is one of my happiest day for so many reasons,” Eddy, as he is fondly called, told TheCable shortly after the solemnisation.
”A day I have been looking forward to and by God’s special grace and divine favor, I am alive to see it come to pass.
“Just yesterday on my way back from the traditional wedding in Benin to Lagos, I had a burst tyre on the highway, so I am the happiest human on earth today. God has been wonderful to me and my family.”
Speaking further, he said: Finally, Sandra is my missing rib; and I am grateful to God for blessing me with her. I thank God for blessing me with the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.”
Present at the solemnisation were Amaju Pinnick, president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF); Christoper Green, chairman, technical committee of the NFF board; Dayo Enebi, Super Eagles team administrator; Chidi Ngoka, Super Eagles equipment manager; Chike Owakah, Super Eagles assistant equipment manager; and Toyin Ibitoye, Super Eagles media officer.
Ogenyi’s team mates in attendance include Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, John Ogu, Elderson Echiejile, Anthony Ujah, Kenneth Omeruo, Sunday Mba and Raheem Lawal.
