After heading the Super Eagles of Nigeria for just seven months, Sunday Oliseh resigned early Friday via Twitter.
Coming less than a month before an all-important qualifier against the Pharaohs of Egypt, Oliseh’s decision hit many by surprise; and this is how Nigerians reacted on Twitter:
Sunday Oliseh resigned? I’m surprised we haven’t had anyone blame it on Jonathan. He didn’t provide funds for NFF….lol…

Some Media houses owe staff years of unpaid wages. We berate them. Rather than do likewise to NFF; people try to blame Sunday Oliseh?

We have a very bad system where Coaches like Sunday Oliseh go for months without Salary and we expect them to perform miracles.

Those who appointed Sunday Oliseh are sick people. The lack experience to manage our national team. He believes he shouldn’t be criticized

@SundayOOliseh Sunny, this development brought back what Bora M said in 1998 WC. We Need Jesus to handle Eagles. GD luck

Zinedine Zidane is the coach of Real Madrid. He was Sunday Oliseh’s teammate in Juventus. Why don’t we value our own? Shame on NFF!

I am even happy @SundayOOliseh resigned willingly. Let the NFF go and sort out their mess including some okachamalu sports journos.

I wonder what Steve (Keshi) would think when he hears that @SundayOOliseh has quit. I’d love to be a fly on the wall of his house!

Isolating the man Sunday Oliseh from the NFF’s massive structural failure still paints him reckless, immature & not ready for the role
