The Ondo government says it has approved the payment of N35,000 provisional wage increment for workers in the state payroll.
The state government said the N35,000 wage award will commence in November and last for six months.
Kayode Ogundele, the state’s head of service, announced the commencement of payment during a meeting between the government and leadership of the labour unions in the state.
Ogundele said workers would receive the N35,000 wage award alongside their November salary.

He said the state had commenced monthly payment of additional N10,000 to all retirees and provided buses to transport workers in the state.
Ogundele added that the palliative measures put in place by the state government
would continue to run concurrently with the payment of the wage award.

In October, President Bola Tinubu approved N35,000 as the provisional wage increment for all treasury-paid workers for the period of six months.
The approval followed the outcome of the meeting between the representatives of the federal government and leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to avert the planned indefinite nationwide strike by the unions.
