A total of 171,922 accredited members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are expected to partake in the governorship primary of the ruling party in Ondo state on Saturday.
The primary will be contested by 16 aspirants including Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of the state. The exercise is scheduled to take place in 203 wards in 18 LGAs.
Ovie Omo-Agege, secretary of the committee supervising the election, met with stakeholders and the governorship hopefuls on Friday night in Akure, NAN reports.
Omo-Agege said none of the aspirants expressed an intention to withdraw or step down for another candidate.

He said the committee is ready to conduct the primary using the direct mode in all the 203 wards across the state.
He appealed to the aspirants to caution their supporters to allow the peaceful conduct of the primary for the progress of the party.
Omo-Agege said the committee is determined to follow the guidelines and constitution of the party and conduct a transparent, fair and credible election.

He said the committee would collaborate with the security agencies to forestall the breakdown of law and order before, during and after the primary.
The primary election committee is headed by Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi state.
