Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, deputy governor of Bayelsa state, has been named as the chair of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election committee in Ondo state.
In a statement on Wednesday, Kennedy Peretei, spokesperson of the PDP in Ondo, said Ewhrudjakpo would lead a six-member panel to conduct the primary that has been fixed for April 25.
Peretei said the International Culture and Events Centre (The Dome), Akure, would be the venue for the exercise.
“A total of 627 Delegates from the 18 Local Government Areas of the State are expected to elect the standard bearer of the party for the November 16, 2024 Governorship election,” the spokesperson said.

“Accreditation of Delegates will commence at 10:00am.
“All those who are not Delegates or have no business at the venue are advised to keep a reasonable distance from the arena.”
Adeolu Akinwumi, Olusola Ebiseni, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, Kolade Akinjo, Bosun Arebuwa, John Mafo and Agboola Ajayi were cleared to contest the primary by the party’s screening committee.

At the weekend, the All Progressives Congress (APC) picked Lucky Aiyedatiwa, governor of Ondo, as its candidate for the governorship election scheduled for September.
