Peter Makinde, the lawmaker representing Ondo east/Ondo west federal constituency, has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila read the letter of his defection at the plenary session on Tuesday.
Makinde cited leadership crisis and division within his party as the reason for defection.
His defection brings to three the number of lawmakers that have defected to the APC within two plenary sessions.

Last Tuesday, two lawmakers from the green chamber joined the APC.
Blessing Onuh, the lawmaker representing Otukpo/Ohimini federal constituency, defected from the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to the APC.
Also, Yakubu Abdullahi, the member representing Bauchi federal constituency, dumped the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for APC.
